Multiscale Sensitivity Analysis of Hydraulic Fracturing Parameters Based on Dimensionless Analysis Method

Abstract The optimal design of hydraulic fracturing parameters is the key to commercial exploitation unconventional reservoirs. Hydraulic test one main methods for optimizing parameters. It known that scale effect exists between laboratory experiments and field treatments fracturing. However, studies on how eliminate are rarely reported. In this work, we conduct sensitivity analysis rock mechanical at different scales by using dimensionless method. initiation propagation process reproduced through tests, analyzed numerical simulation. Our results show fracture in inconsistent with can be samples high modulus low toughness as well high-viscosity fluid. Microcracks created before breakdown pressure reached, fractures extend perpendicular direction minimum principal stress.
